Tie-dye party

The moms in our Mamatoto group got together to make some crazy tie-dye onesies for the little ones... The babies had fun socializing with each other...

Kirra celebrated her first Daddy's birthday, and loved every minute of it.

I had to come down to Kirra's level to see what it looks like to be overstimulated on the floor with crazy dangling objects...

You always wonder if your baby will end up looking like her mom or dad... So far, the consensus is that she looks a lot like Tony, but has my eye color. We'll see if that changes over time, as it's still very early.

It all tastes great...

Kirra now grabs just about everything she can fit in her little fingers. Where does it all go? To the mouth... So, I had to try it to see what's so good about it...

How fast do babies grow? Check it out...

This is pretty scary... Check out Kirra at just about 4-5 days old, and again at 4 months old, in the same bassinet... This is how fast she has grown! She's gone from 7.2 lbs to 13.8 lbs, almost double her weight... All of it on Mommy's milk. Pretty cool.

Reading time

We read books to Kirra just about every day... She actually has come up with some favorite ones already (her reaction will be different based on the book, it's amazing): her French story book about a baby chicken is a always a hit, as well as her new baby faces book. She gets really excited with that one...

4 months old on July 28...

4 months!!!! She's made it... and with flying colors... She's putting on some serious weight now, has a double chin (or is it triple?!!), and is growing some good rolls on her chubby thighs... You gotta love that... Soooo cute. I guess her Mommy's milk has some great stuff in it. You just want to eat her! Yum yum...

Tummy time incentive...

Ok, so Kirra just doesn't like tummy-time... What can I say! She keeps getting better at it though, which is good news, so there is hope that she won't stay on her back until she's 15! :-)

We keep coming up with exciting things for her to focus on to get her more excited about it. This one actually worked: I put the baby book in front of her, turned to the page where it says what she's supposed to be doing by 5 months. She seemed intrigued by it, but she now has something to work towards!

Surfing C Street

We went surfing C Street in Ventura with our friends Allie and Jeremy (and their little girl Kaya / one month younger than Kirra). Kirra loved checking out the surf, putting her toes in the water, and can't wait to get out there herself...

Kirra looooooooooves her bath...

Up until recently, Kirra just hasn't liked taking a bath... So, we decided to try something different and go in with her, to make it more fun, and guess what? She now loves it... No more crying at bath time. She loves splashing around and kicking the yellow ducky around (now, that's a lot of fun!!!). Check out the video...

Zoo photo shoot

We had a Zoo photo shoot in early July with our PEP group. I think Kirra would have preferred going for a ride on the elephants, but oh well, we still got a couple good shots out of it...

New sun hat

Gee, it's been over a month since my last post... I have some catching up to do here! Just been too busy, or having too much fun... So, let's step back to July for an update on what we did over July/August.

First, we got Kirra a new sunhat to protect her from our California sun... It's a bit big, but she'll grow into it. She likes modeling it with her Daddy and Mommy...
