Yeah, I have teeth...

Kirra already has 2 teeth... The 1st one came out around 4 1/2 months, and the 2nd one at around 5 1/2 months... That's quite early, you might say, but not unusual. It was a bit painful for Kirra right after the teeth came through, but overall, she's been a trooper with the discomfort.

Sleeping in...

Oooooh, Aaaaaah... How cute!

Trick to a successful car ride...

Kirra loves playing with her grabby-ball in the car, as you can see on the video below... You might notice that she even grabs it with her toes at times... Now, that's talent! She will then send it back and forth between her feet and hands. Never leave home without it when you go on a car ride with Kirra!

First encounter with... horses!

Kirra was quite fascinated by horses when she saw them for the first time... She even petted them!

More beach time with friends

We try to make the best of our beach weather before the weather starts cooling down soon... I know, it's all relative in Santa Barbara, but still... We enjoyed a nice afternoon at Bates beach with our friends John&Jen, Blair&Heidi+Rachel+Dana...

Mamatoto babies

Our babies are changing so quickly... As they become more active and mobile, they also learn to interact with each other, which has its own challenges at times...

Kirra is a TV/Internet Star...

A TV crew came to one of our early PEP meetings with all the moms, to document what services PEP provides in the SB area. They finally released the video, a few months later, both on TV and the internet. Kirra ended up being one of the stars on the video (look for the yawning baby!!). She's now a TV/Internet Star. We are now in the process of getting an agent for her, to make sure we manage her new career our best possible... :-)

PEP Moms waterfront walk

Once a week, we hook up with other PEP moms (and some dads, on occasion) for a stroll on the waterfront...

Surf's up...

Another fun day at the beach! This time was Bates, with our friend Rachel and her dad Blair! Blair, Tony and I took turn surfing, and watching the kids, so we all got to catch some waves at Indicator. Let's do it again, soon!

5 months old on August 28... Wow...

Tony reminded me how you now get a sense of time going by watching a baby grow... It's so true. Kirra is now 5 months. She got her first tooth at 4.5 months, and rolled over on her own twice in a row one day after her 5th month birthday (she hasn't done it since though!). What a girl... And she's having so much fun, as you can tell...

Dinner at Arroyo Hondo

We had a very nice dinner with John&Jen at the Arroyo Hondo Preserve. Blair&Heidi+Rachel+Dana were also there. It was great to catch up with everyone.

Having a ball...

Here Tony's idea of having fun with Kirra... (she actually WAS having fun).
Note: the ball didn't actually touch her face, and no baby was harmed during the making of this movie... :-)

Back to Lake Los Carneros

We stayed away from Lake Los Carneros for a while during the Gap fire. We are now going back, and Kirra is now old enough to actually enjoy the wildlife... Geese, and ducks come quite close to her, hoping for some break crums... We also check out the turtles in the water and any other critters that may cross our path (bunnies, squirrels, etc.).

Special PJs

When my sister Francoise came to visit, along with my brother Alain, they brought me a bunch of hand-me-downs from their kids (thank you, thank you). One special outfit is quite dear to my heart, as we actually wore these PJs when we were little ourselves... And now, Kirra gets to wear it... :-)

Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens

Since Kirra has developed a new love for flowers, we figured we would take her to the Botanic Gardens. She loved it, although by the end of it, she passed out asleep... She's been back since then with Daddy, but I fear we may be banned from it soon, for pulling too many petals off the flowers (shhhh, don't tell anyone!).

Concerts in the Park

On Thursday evenings, we've been going to Chase Palm Park for the Concerts in the Park series. There is a great variety of music being played, and it's a great place to hang out with babies. Kirra also enjoys the music, and seeing all the people around. The more action for this little girl, the better...

Kirra the flower lover/destroyer...

Every morning (well, almost...), Tony takes Kirra out to go smell the roses, and the morning dew. She loves it. She now knows all the flowers (or what's left of them) around the house. Her favorite thing to do? Grab and pull the petals... If only she could do the same thing with our weeds, life would be perfect...

Milk coma

Here are a couple pictures of what it looks like to be in a milk coma...

"Flying is in my blood..."

We went to check out Daddy fly his hang-glider at the Elliminator. Kirra helped doing the hang check, and telling him when a good wind cycle was coming up launch... It's hard to tell what goes on in her mind at that point!!! We then went down to hang out in the shade at Parma Park, where Tony landed. Soon, she'll see me fly too, once I have a bit more freedom to get back in the air. (Bobbie, thanks for the cutest onesie!!!).

What?!!!

Gotta love the look on her cute little face... Bath time is now so much fun these days, especially with her friend the Quack Quack...
