Scale improv'...

Ok, so I couldn't wait until our next pediatrician visit to see how much weight Kirra is putting on... So, I improvised with an cooking scale and a bowl... She didn't seem to mind at all, and actually looked quite comfortable in there...

Kirra turns one month...

Times flies by... Kirra is already a month old. She is so smart she can already count to one, as you can see on the photograph...

Visit from France...

Wow... Talk about being an important person... Kirra already got a visit from her aunt and uncle from France (my sister Francoise, and brother Alain).
They came all the way especially to see her in her early weeks of life...
It was great to see them, and for them to spend some time with Kirra.

Pictures to enjoy...

The previous link was embedded in a post, and missed by too many, so here it is again:

Looking back at these pictures, it's amazing how quickly Kirra is changing already...

Kirra meets her Grand-Parents

Kirra got to meet her Opa and Oma (grandpa and grandma in Dutch), Tony's parents. Henri came down for a visit from Arroyo Grande, and Johanna is spending the next few months in SB, along with Billy, away from her Hawaiian home away from home... They are all doting over Kirra!

Kirra's first bath...

Kirra's first (sponge) bath was, well, memorable... Not sure if this surfer girl likes the water too much yet! Maybe we'll try with a wetsuit on next time...

It's a girl...!!!

Kirra Josephine De Groot was born at 9.36am on Friday, March 28, 2008, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She weighed 7lbs 2oz, and was 19" long... We are so blessed to welcome our beautiful healthy miracle to the world.

"Kirra" is the name of an epic surf spot on the East coast of Australia that Tony and I went to a few years back.

"Josephine" is my grand-mother's name.

"De Groot" is Tony's last name.

Tony and I are so happy/thankful beyond belief that Kirra is this perfect little girl... It helps that she is also quite the cutie (then again, I'm biased, of course!).

I hope you all get to meet her soon! In the meantime, here are a few pictures, and a link to many more online: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14653035@N02/sets/72157604445939624/

Welcome home, Kirra!
